About Kandy

Kanella (Kandy) Otto works with copper to create two-dimensional relief works of art that reflect the natural beauty of Door County.

Her unique process manipulates the copper to create depth before applying natural patinas to enhance details. She then applies oil glazes and utilizes mark-making tools to add layers of color and texture. This process creates a one-of-a-kind artwork that responds to changes in light, creating a dynamic effect.

Kandy’s art is heavily influenced by her love of nature and her belief in the Divine Artist who created it.

When she’s not working with copper in her Egg Harbor studio she explores the beauty of nature through a combination of oil pastel, watercolor, and other mixed medias to create works on paper.
